VAN DE WIEL kicked off in a studio in San Miguel de Allende, Mexico, exploded floor to ceiling in Brooklyn, and then in Sydney burst across murals, gallery windows, home furnishings, upholstery and wall coverings. No wonder. MARY VAN DE WIEL BELIEVES THAT ART HAS A PULSE. IT BELONGS IN EVERYDAY LIFE. NOT JUST ON WALLS.

Inside her new GALERÍA VDW, launched Oct 2025, those brushstrokes have evolved into an entirely new world — translated into bold, playful collections of accessories, totes, homewares, ponchos, lighting + handwoven rugs. Every piece is infused with her unmistakable energy where the color black fearlessly takes center stage.

BTW that’s a VAN DE WIEL knitted poncho (black/white on the front) BUT touches of orange + red on the back. Plus my gorgeous friend in the photo is carrying her laptop bag (also a VDW design) which shows off a dash of orange on one side. Black/white only on the other side!
